EXPANSION IN TELEVISION PACKAGE FOR 2012 SEASON
THE KUMHO Tyres V8 Touring Car Series will feature in its own, dedicated, one-hour television program on Australia’s new home of motorsport – SPEED.
In addition to its existing television package of coverage on the AVE-produced ‘Speedweek’ on SBS and ‘Inside SPEED’ on SPEED, all six rounds of the 2012 Kumho Series will now have a standalone, one-hour program dedicated to each round of the championship.
An expansion of the coverage shown on ‘Speedweek’ and ‘Inside SPEED’, the dedicated Kumho Series programs on SPEED – produced by AVE - will feature increased race coverage and additional colour stories.
BOBBY Jane, the 21-year-old son of Australian motor racing legend Bob Jane, will make his car racing debut in this year's Kumho Tyres V8 Touring Car Series.
Jane will drive a Ford Falcon BA for Victorian-based Image Racing in the six-round national series, which starts at Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway on March 9-11.
While the youngster has a famous surname, the Falcon he will drive is also packed with V8 Supercar history.
ORIGINAL RICHARDS CARS RESTORED TO ORIGINAL LIVERIES FOR 2012 SEASON
A PAIR of teams in this year's Kumho Tyres V8 Touring Car Series will pay special tribute to former V8 Supercar driver Jason Richards across the six-round national series in 2012.
The teams will race Holden Commodores in the series for deregistered V8 Supercars, though as a special tribute both will run them in original livery - as raced by Richards - specifically for this season.
